Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first posted her music on the internet in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 with five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw her release new music through the internet including Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate with Rihanna. On December 8 it was revealed that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening act. In 2018, she performed in two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was later released in September. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two additional singles were also released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed together with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on 16 November. It then came out as a stand-alone single in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. In February of 2019, a music video was made available for the track. It already has more than three million hits on YouTube within its debut week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
